About the course:
The student is required to complete the electrical design for the residential unit in accordance with SANS 10142: Wiring Code. The design shall include schematics, design report and bills of quantities.
The student shall complete include lighting, power and distribution board schematics, a design report detailing the design considerations and philosophy as well as a detailed bill of quantities.
Course pre-requisites:
The student is required to first complete the on-line courses Electrical Residential Design and SANS 204 and SANS 10400XA Lighting
Documents provided:
The student will be provided with an electronic format(dwg) residential unit including sample design report template and bill of quantities template.
Deliverables from student:
- Design schematics in dwg and pdf: Lighting, power and distribution board
- Design report in word and pdf
- Bill of Quantities in excel and pdf
Marks:
- Design schematics 50%
- Design report 25%
- Bill of quantities 25%
Time to complete:
The student will be given 2 weeks to complete the submission.
Certificate:
Upon completion with an 80% pass mark the student will be issued with a certificate of completion.
